Outspoken Caveman

Color Test

Each of the four boxes has four color patches. They may look alike, but each patch is filled with a different color model; #hex, RGB(0 to 256), RGB(0 to 100%), and HSL. I started with the hex code for my target colors and then found the nearest match in the other models. However, with integer rounding errors, the colors were not exactly the same. HSL and RGB(%) produced noticeably different colors. HSL is nice to work with, but has a smaller color set and so does not allow exact matches with every integer color. Next, I chose the HSL color and found the best integer color to match. This test allows me to use HSL as the driver model to adjust other models to match HSL. Depending on your monitor, you can still see a difference.
